Air Conditioning Efficiency

Air Conditioning Efficiency is important for several reasons. Most Air Conditioning and refrigeration plant operate below optimum efficiency – some estimates put it at more than 85% of all refrigeration systems. On average, you could be wasting between 10 and 20% of the energy you consume or even as high as 50% in some cases.

We use the latest diagnostic optimisation tool which is an award-winning performance analyser that can help companies maximise air conditioning efficiency and refrigeration plant efficiency.

We use this analysing tool as part of our standard air conditioning maintenance routine. This helps us measure, analyse and record the energy efficiency of your refrigeration or air conditioning systems.

The analyser helps us:

  • Identify areas of and reasons for AC or refrigeration under performance
  • Identify potential defects and areas in need of attention that could lead to loss of performance or breakdown in the future
  • Adjust the AC or refrigeration plant to deliver optimum performance.

At the end of the visit, your service engineer will leave you with documentation that shows you exactly what changes have been made and what savings are likely as a result.

The savings that can be made can be startling.

Take an example of a 300kW process chiller that is consuming around 100kW of power. If it runs at full load for nine months of the year, the annual energy consumption would be 657,000kWh. If you were paying for your electricity at 10p per kWh, just a ten percent improvement would save you £6,500 in the first year alone. You would also be saving the equivalent of 27 tonnes of CO2.
