Extension of Data centre for Plymouth company
We were invited by a major utilities company to tender for the extension of their Data Centre in Plymouth.
The project involved the addition of a 200m2 room onto an existing 450m2 facility to cater for additional tape storage equipment.
After a successful tendering process, we carried out the installation on a “turnkey” fit-out basis.
The client was particularly keen to ensure that the extended facility matched the existing as closely as possible, and also the ensure that the existing services would not be interrupted by the new works.
Also, the extension encroached into a busy working environment, which had to remain operational throughout the project, so the detailed on-site management and phasing of the works was essential to the success of the project.
The scope of the installation comprised: –
- Close Control Air Conditioning (Airedale downflow units)
- Raised Modular Floor
- Computer and Mains Power Distribution
- Doors and Partitions
- Fire Detection and Suppression
- Water Leak Detection
The project took 12 weeks to complete from contract signature to handover.
