Evaporative Coolers for Pharmaceutical Products
Evaporative coolers proved to be the right solution for our client. Our Client, a contract packaging company, handles a large variety of pharmaceutical products for many different clients. The storage of the drugs must be kept in a controlled environment of between 15oC and 25oC all year round.
A traditional air conditioning system was initially considered but, due to the shortage of available electrical capacity on the site, this proved not to be a viable solution.
We therefore proposed an evaporative cooling system, which consumes about 15% of the power required for a refrigeration based air conditioning system.
The installation comprised: –
- Installation off two roof mounted Evaporative Coolers
- Installation off all ductwork
- Mains water supply to Coolers
- Control panels and electrics
- Commissioning off all systems.
Heating was provided by existing gas-fired wall mounted heaters, and we designed the control system to ensure that the cooling and heating systems operated automatically to ensure year-round control of room conditions.
