Ensuring we meet our customers’ expectations
As part of our ongoing commitment, we carry out periodic reviews of the contract to ensure we are delivering our set goals. We wanted to illustrate to our client that they had made the right decision in choosing EMS Ltd as their main A/C contractor.
We wanted to use some real data to highlight how EMS had made a difference to the reliability and effectiveness of the equipment on site.
We chose to present figures on a Year-over-Year basis, using January-June data. Meanwhile, we had also taken on the maintenance contract for the process chillers in this client’s manufacturing areas; therefore, it was important to exclude these figures from our analysis to make sure the figures presented a true comparison between Year 1 and Year 2.
The data below illustrate the total number of labour hours spent doing each maintenance activity, with a variance % column showing a Year-over-year decrease in number of hours spent across all three areas.
Improved Reliability and Effectiveness
Using these findings, we drew the following conclusions:
- Having only taken on the equipment in January 2017, initially in Year 1 our PPM hours were comparatively higher. As a new contractor on site, we like to spend time bringing the state of all the equipment up to the highest possible standard.
- The quantity of call outs reduced by half, possible due to the extra care and attention given by our engineers during our routine servicing.
- The amount of time spent on repair jobs has remained steady, this is testament to the expertise of our engineers in proactively diagnosing faults and repairing them before they cause breakdowns. This is evident in the vast reduction in the time spent attending call outs.
